ATARI
CX-2600 VCS - the original Darth Vader, the black one
Just before Christmas in 1977, Nolan Bushnell and his
Atari gang released the Video Computer System (VCS),
later known as the 2600. The Atari 2600, the ulimate
gaming machine, never before and never again will an
entertainment system make such a huge impact. Akin to
the aspirin and sliced bread, their may always be better
systems out there, but none can ever equal the effect
on society that the 2600 created.
The original "Darth Vader" console, because
she´s black and was originally sold with the game
StarWars
(not included). But you can read the StarWars Manual
here.
The console is tested, comes without power supply, you
need a 9v AC adapter. The Darth Vader system is the
same as a 4 switch wood grain but features an all-black
appearance. This Console is rare and in a good condition.

Introduced in 1982, this model officially uses the
name "2600" for the first time to help differentiate
it from the newly introduced 5200 Super System. The
2600 is primarily black with no woodgrain, and otherwise
looks like the VCS CX2600A. It came packaged in a silver
box with two joysticks and two pack-in games (Combat
and Pac-Man), and is also found in a more compact silver
box without the games and with only one joystick.
In 1985 the Atari 2600 was re-released as the 2600
Junior. The switches are the same as the CX 2600
A except that they are now sliding buttons rather than
switches.
Please note: Not all types of TV´s
can display a ATARI 2600 today, the older the TV set
is, the better. If the console does not appear on your
TV screen, test it on an older one. The console is tested
an working fine.

1977, noch unter Bushnell's Leitung, brachte Atari
eine der erfolgreichsten und am längsten produzierte
Spielkonsole der Welt heraus: Das Video Computer System
(Entwicklungsname "Stella"). Technisch den
Konkurrenten weit unterlegen, hatte es durch die riesige
Spieleauswahl aber die meisten Käufer angesprochen.
1982 kam die 4. Version des 2600 auf den Markt, jetzt
offiziell als "Atari 2600" herausgegeben.
Spitzname war "Darth Vader"
wegen der schwarzen Blende und wegen dem neu erschienen
Spiel "Star
Wars" (nicht in Auktion enthalten, aber das
englische Manual können Sie hier
downloaden). Bis auf die schwarze Blende und die fehlende
orange Umrandung des "Höckers" war die
Konsole identisch mit dem 1978er-Modell.Ausgeliefert
wurde es mit dem Kult-Spieleklassiker "Pac-Man"
aus dem Hause Namco.
Bitte beachten: Nicht alle Fernseher
können heute noch eine ATARI 2600 wiedergeben,
es gilt der Grundsatz: je älter der Fernseher,
umso besser. Wenn eine 2600er Konsole bei Ihrem Fernseher
kein Bild zeigt (vergrisseltes, bis gar kein Bild),
versuchen Sie es an einem älteren/anderen Fernseher.
